Rawlings Sporting Goods and Connecticut American Legion Baseball are joining forces for another successful edition of the Rawlings Futures Showcase
Our goal is to offer a First Class event for the players, coaches and recruiting personnel. Below you will find information on the nomination process as well as the showcase format. Here are the details, and the format for our nominations and showcase.
- Date: Saturday, July 31, 2010 (rain date: Sunday August 1)
- Site: Simsbury Memorial Field ( 60 Plank Hill Rd. Simsbury CT 06070)
- Format: Each Senior Legion Team will be placed in one of the six districts for the purpose of assigning players to the District Team
- Rosters will be capped at 18 players.
- 3 games will be played:
- 10:00 AM American Central vs. National Central
- 1:30 PM American East vs National West
- 5:00 PM American North vs National South
- 9 innings: 2 hour 30 minute time limit
- Each Senior Legion team may nominate up to 3 players. These players must be legitimate College or Pro prospects. Deadline is Monday July 5, 2010
- The Rawlings Futures Teams will be announced no later than July 15, 2010.
- For the sake of balance, each team will need to have at least 6 pitchers, 2 catchers and a balance of infielders and outfielders.
- Rawlings will provide a Jersey/shirt for each player with a number and name on the back for the convenience of the College or Pro scouts in attendance.
- Each recruiting coordinator/coach/scout will be provided an information packet with each player’s profile.
